Yes that’s right, we are excited to announce that the Coraki Public School Incursion will begin again in 2017. For the third year running, Circus in Education will partner with Spaghetti Circus to deliver a term-long school incursion at Coraki Public School. This incredible school incursion is circus based, with a strong performance product and rich and deep learning outcomes for all involved.
The Coraki Public School incursion project began in 2015 when Circus in Education director, Jacqui Levy, approached Spaghetti Circus to form a partnership that would benefit students by providing a social circus project at Coraki Public School. The project was philanthropically funded by a private donor, and has been funded annually ever since. Past clips of the Coraki Public School Incursion projects can be found on Circus in Education’s Collaborative Projects Page
The students at Coraki Public school do a wide range of physical activities as part of the school incursion project, and learn how to work as a team and practice focus and resilience. The project has so far seen two school performances with rave reviews.
In 2017, the Coraki Public School incursion will see students participating in classes throughout term 1, and creating a performance in term 2. The theme for this year’s performance will be pride of place, with circus acts based on stories of the school as recorded by locals who have attended over time.
