School Circus Workshops Create Positive Change
School circus workshops at Coraki Public School have demonstrated the positive effects that circus can have. These positive outcomes have been made possible through partnerships formed between Circus in Education and Spaghetti Circus of Mullumbimby. For the second year in a row, Circus in Education and Spaghetti Circus have been delivering circus workshops at Coraki Public School with spectacular results.
This year, Coraki Public School presented ‘Where the Wylde Things Are’. This circus show incorporated aerials, tumbling, cultural dance and much more. Students learned positive risk taking, improved their general fitness levels, learned new skills and practiced positive communication skills as they worked towards their goal.
As a result of their hard work during seven weeks of circus workshops at the school, students presented a spectacular production for community and family members. Students were proud of their work and it was great to see them showing off their talents. Once again, this project showed that circus workshops in schools can have far reaching results and rich learning outcomes. The partnership was made possible through private philanthropic funding.
As a result of the great effort put in by staff and students alike, we are proud to announce that the project has been funded for another year in 2017. For links to news articles, video clips and photos, check out our Facebook page.
